How to Create an 8K Environment Map in After Effects | SkyBox

Charles Yeager (yeagerfilm.com) shows how to create an 8K environment map—entirely in After Effects—using the SkyBox plugin. This tutorial is also posted on envatotuts+, where you can download the project file and 3 free 8K Environment Maps created using this method.

SkyBox is a set of 360/VR production tools for After Effects. It can also be used to generate Environment/Reflection Maps. These custom maps can be used in After Effects with 3D plugins like Element 3D, ShapeShifter AE, FreeForm Pro. These large equirectangular maps also come in really handy for 3D programs like 3DS Max or Cinema 4D. You can download a free trial of Skybox or SkyBox Studio and follow along with the tutorial.
