Tutorial: Virtual Production for 360 Video | After Effects

This tutorial is a great intro to 360 virtual production. It’s ideal for musicians or performers who want to add themselves into a virtual performance space. You don’t need a 360 camera, and no plugins are required for the basic setup. All the stylization is with Mettle Mantra V2 and FLUX. Includes free project file. Hosted by Charles Yeager.

Key Green screen footage.

Create 360 comp and add space image.

Using Mettle Globe Preview.

Create floor layer.

Add person into scene.

Use After Effects > VR Blur and matte for scene.

Add FLUX for background.

Use Mantra V2 on adjustment layer.

Add subject reflection.

Add floor texture.

Experiment with VR Rotate Sphere.

Export with the VR presets.
