SKU: SSAE. Category: . Tags: , .

Design and animate complex-looking 3D logos directly in After Effects. Create visually-rich unique organic shapes that can morph and replicate with The Generator feature. Generate and animate true 3D text in the Ae comp window. ShapeShifter Ae is powered by 3DNAE, mettle’s proprietary 3D Engine, so it’s blazing fast.

ShapeShifter AE: The Ultimate Guide

Chris Lavelle (ldistudios.com/) walks us through the features of ShapeShifter AE. He explains every feature in detail, step-by-step. An extremely thorough video manual that can be used as an introduction to ShapeShifter AE, or as a reference guide on specific features. This is a companion guide to FreeForm Pro: The Ultimate Guide.

GENERATE AND ANIMATE TRUE 3D TEXT
in the comp window, quickly and easily.

EASY 3D DEFORMATIONS
Bend, Bulge & Twist controls.

3D DISPLACEMENT MAPPING
Use a grayscale image to deform your layer in 3D space.

THE GENERATOR
Replicate your 3D object multiple times on a single layer. Control and animate the replications with one set of controls.

FRESNEL
Add the fresnel lens phenomenon to your work. Create additional 3D materials, like water and glass.

DISPLACEMENT MAP CHANNELS
Isolate different regions on your 3D model, and give them different reflections and finishes.

DISPLACEMENT MAP NOISE
Easier to create natural-looking organic surfaces and animations using mathematical algorithms instead of additional geometry. Is a great complement to displacement maps.

ANIMATEABLE SUBDIVISIONS
Control the amount of geometry in your 3D model. Add more geometry for extreme close-ups in your animation, and diminish the geometry for long-shots of the same model.

ENVIRONMENT SECTION
Create natural phenomena like fog and mist with no additional rendering time.

3D BLENDING MODES

True 3D blending (transfer) modes built-in at many levels.

RENDER DEPTH MAPS
for use with lens blurs + products like Trapcode Particular etc.

REFLECTION MAPPING
Spherical and Cubic.

WORK ON
After Effects Shape Layers + Layer Masks

SHADOW CASTING.

HIGH SPEED RENDERING

denial.of.service Experimental Work

This video gives some insight into how Harry Martis (denial.of.service) creates his visuals in After Effects. He creates long segments, almost like a creative stream of consciousness. He then takes sections and further evolves them, to put into his final edit. Harry Martis (denial.of.service) is known for his break-through work for clients like David Bowie and Banks.

Praschan Requiem Title Sequence

When Sonia Rechaux began work on a film title sequence for Praschan Requiem, a French crime film, she chose mettle’s 3D plug-in ShapeShifter AE to help deliver her vision.  The long typographical morphing sequences she had in mind were perfectly suited for ShapeShifter AE’s capabilities.

Model a 3D Aquaman Logo In After Effects

Chris Bobotis shows us exactly how to create a 3D Aquaman logo in After Effects using ShapeShifter Ae, with simple and clever techniques. Chris is a partner at mettle, and the developer of mettle plug-ins.

Amazing Spider-man Sequence Tutorial

You loved the Amazing Spider-man title sequence. So here’s the tutorial that shows you exactly how to recreate it in After Effects with our ShapeShifter AE plug-in. Nancy from mettle hosts this fun tut. Download the free project file and follow along!

Expandables Title Sequences

This title sequence looks complex, but it’s actually quite simple to recreate. Chris Bobotis,(mettle), created this title sequence all in Ae with ShapeShifter. Single objects were created and replicated – the guns and knives. The Mirror Effect was used for efficiency. Watch the tutorial and see how it’s done.

Superman by Jerzy Drozda

Jerzy Drozda Jr. aka Maltaannon created this 3D morphing Superman Logo for our Superman Design Challenge. The animations had to be created, rendered and animated with ShapeShifter in After Effects.
