How to Get HTC Vive to Work with SkyBox VR Player

Follow the updated instructions below to install Oculus Home and Revive to use your HTC Vive with SkyBox VR Player. This lets you work with Mettle 360/VR plugins in Premiere Pro and After Effects, with 360 previews through the Vive. This greatly speeds up workflow, is a more efficient way to work, and best of all, SkyBox VR Player is free. The VR Player works with Oculus RIFT as well.

Instructions:

1. Install Oculus Home (https://www3.oculus.com/en-us/setup/) and skip device configuration step.

3. Launch ReviveOverlay.

4. Right click on Revive icon and select “Inject”.

5. Select “After Effects” and “Premiere Pro”.

6. New “Vive” output device should appear in VR Player menu.

Mettle Skybox Suite has joined Adobe.

Mettle Skybox Suite of plugins will be exclusively available as part of your Creative Cloud membership through deep, native integration with Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC. Adobe Creative Cloud will offer an end to end experience for crafting rich and compelling VR/360 experiences.

    • Adobe chose not to include the SkyBox VR Player, as they are developing their own immersive viewing system. If you want to continue using SkyBox VR Player, you can still access it through the Mettle plugins with Adobe CC 2017. When you update to CC 2018, there is an option to keep CC 2017 as well.
